How to Put a Handle on a Knife Blade

This is only one method, but a good one to use if you don't have the necessary drill bits, etc.

Step 1, split the wood and trace the blade

Step 2, make a stop cut with the tip of your knife so that you stay along your tracing.

Step 3, carve out the area where the blade will be. I used a spoon gouge for this knife.

Step 4, Make sure the blade sits evenly with the wood, but don't make it so loose/deep that it can slip out or shift during the gluing process.

Step 5, Epoxy the blade in the handle and then the wood back together. It should look as though it is a solid piece of wood once again. Clamp it down when finished.

Step 6, Carve the wood down to your desired shape.

Step 7, Sand and finish!
